Economic potential: is good
as there is a well established Tarapur Industrial Estate comprising
of engineering, chemical, textiles, paints, drugs and pharmaceutical
industries.
Also, Alewadi can serve as a good feeder port for containers
to supplement JNPT.
There is also good potential for setting up passenger services
from Mumbai to Alewadi to meet the growing needs of the commuters
on Mumbai.
