SALIENT FEATURES:

• Proposed port (by CES) is located on the south of Pawas Bay in the Ratnagiri District. Ganeshgule is 20 km. and 7 km. from Ratnagiri and Pawas respectively.
  
  
• The port is located at Lat 16º 52 . ON Long 73º 17’ 5 E.
  
  
• The proposed site is sheltered partially by hillocks; Beach along Ganeshgule is very sandy.
  
  
• Northern and Southern shores of the bay are rocky.
  
  
• The 5 m and 10m contours are at a distance of about 0.30 km. And 0.9 km. respectively.
  
  
• Bore logs available indicate that for 4m to 5m below the seabed, sand exists followed by weathered basalt.
